PRODUCTION – ACTION

Lizards vs Wizards

A score-based game where you use your limited recourses to get enough points from killing enemies to fight the boss and win.

Skills Commentary

I spent a lot of time fixing the enemies so they can actually work, added the sprites to them. Got the shop UP AND RUNNING and did overall coding here and there. I also really wanted to do music but with my limited skills didn’t get very far.

POST-PRODUCTION – REFLECTION

21st Century Skills

Ways of Thinking

Most problems that came up were with our enemies and had what I now would call simple solutions but at the time were really annoying. Talking about the problem with other teams and learning from tutorials on Youtube came in help.

Ways of Working (Communication & Collaboration)

Asking others for help I would say is the best thing you could do when you’re having trouble with your game. Talking about the ideas for our game was really fun and helping others just like they helped me was nice.

Tools for Working

Youtube was really helpful and the fact that my teammates have taken this class before also helped.

Ways of Living in the World

This production process was somewhat annoying but taught me how to work in a very social environment.

Reactions to the Final Version

People who played our game seemed to all enjoy the graphics and most of the gameplay.

Self-Evaluation of Final Version

I felt like I did way more than I have done making a game before but compared to my peers with their infinite wisdom I did very little.

What I Learned and Problems I Solved

I learned is that making games can be annoying as hell. Whenever a problem came up I resorted to asking others or watching tutorials. Fixing enemies and player collisions are what I mainly focused on but worked here and there when my team needed me to.

Grammar and Spelling

I’ve just been using Grammarly and autocorrect.
